BAKU, June 13. /TASS/. Presidents of Russia and Turkey Vladimir Putin and Recep Erdogan had negotiations on Saturday.
The media were not allowed to the meeting.
The Russian side was represented by presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Energy Alexander Novak, Head of Rosatom Sergei Kiriyenko, Gazprom’s CEO Alexei Miller.
Putin and Erdogan clearly were reluctant to begin talks in presence of the media. Several minutes later, as correspondents made pictures, the leaders only exchanged impressions from the opening ceremony of the European Games, they both attended on Friday. Erdogan noted none of the European Union’s leaders had attended the ceremony. "Turkey, a candidate for the EU member, represented the entire European Union," Putin said with a smile.
The presidents agreed the opening ceremony was very spectacular and wished success to their national teams and to the host-country’s athletes.
