TOKYO, Mar 24, 2010 (Asia In Focus via COMTEX) --

MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CORP. (TSE:6503) has developed modifications that promise to stabilize and optimize the power from solar panels. The role of the power conditioner is to convert the direct current of the solar panels into alternating current, and to stabilize the voltage and other characteristics of that electric power.

* The modifications made by Mitsubishi include changes to circuitry and new embedded software which together work to monitor the power-generating status of the solar power system at a rate of around 20 times each second, determining how best to adjust voltage to optimize output.

* The company expects to have a commercial version of the power conditioner ready in 2011 and plans to begin by selling devices for large-scale solar power systems, like at factories.
