The FINANCIAL -- According to RIA Novosti, Russian gas monopoly Gazprom confirmed on December 4 it had been paid in full by Ukrainian energy company Naftogaz for natural gas supplied in November.
"Naftogaz has paid in full for November gas supplies," a Gazprom spokesman said
Naftogaz said earlier on Friday it had paid $770 million for gas supplied last month.
Gas dealings between the two ex-Soviet states have been closely followed in Europe after a dispute between MOSCOW and Kiev at the turn of the year left millions of Europeans without gas in January when Russia briefly cut off supplies to and transits via Ukraine .
Naftogaz has pledged further payments to provide "Ukrainian consumers with enough gas and ensure continuous transit" to the European Union despite a domestic economic crisis.
Ukraine transits around 80% of Russia's Europe-bound gas.
