Centric and Heritage to Launch 2D Survey in Mali in 2010

Wednesday, December 9, 2009

Centric Energy Corp. updated its exploration plans for Blocks 1 and 11 in Mali. The company holds a 25% stake in the blocks and is partnered with Heritage Oil who holds the remaining 75%.

Heritage farmed-in to the two blocks in 2008. Under the agreement with Centric, Heritage will carry Centric through the 2D seismic program on the blocks and the first exploration well.

The blocks have a total area of 72,000 sq km which is well-defined by the interpretation of a high-resolution aeromagnetic survey contracted by Centric.

In 2010 Centric and Heritage plan to acquire, process, and interpret up to 354 km of 2D seismic on Block 11. The partners are also considering continuing the seismic acquisition into Block 7. The acquisition is expected to begin in mid-2010, after preliminary reconnaissance and fieldwork. It is expected that the interpretation of the seismic data will lead to the development of prospects for subsequent drilling.
Alec Robinson, President and CEO said: “With these firm plans for acquisition of new seismic data in Mali, next year will be an exciting time for our exploration programme, with the potential to lead to exploration drilling in these Blocks in the following year. Centric Energy looks forward to working closely with our partner, Heritage Oil, on the continuing exploration of the Gao graben in Mali.
