Tri Global Energy Leads Texas in Wind Energy Development Projects

May 11:

DALLASMay 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tri Global Energy, the utility-scale renewable energy company with wind farm projects located in Texas and New Mexico, leads Texas as the developer on nearly one quarter of all wind energy projects currently under construction in the state, according to the Q1 2015 Market Report from the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).
The U.S. wind energy industry is in the middle of a near record expansion, with over 13,600 MW of capacity in construction at 100 sites in 23 states, according to AWEA's Q1 2015 Market Report.
"Several factors are driving this activity, including what we think is the most important -- the extension of the production tax credit (PTC), which have allowed projects to qualify by beginning construction or investment within the year and then be completed in 2015 and 2016," said John Billingsley, Chairman and CEO of Tri Global Energy.
The active construction in 2015 rallied after nearly four times as much generation capacity was added in 2014 versus 2013. According to the AWEA report, this maintains the U.S. ranking as number one in the world in wind energy production.
"This scale of activity is largely due to world-class wind resources in Texas and throughout the U.S. and the success of the Production Tax Credit, which incentivizes the highest possible production," said Billingsley
