Iraqi MP: Iraq welcomes Iranian oil companies

Erbil, May 13, IRNA – Head of Iraqi parliament's Oil and Gas Commission on Wednesday welcomed Iranian companies in Iraq energy projects said that Iraqi government is pleased with presence of Iranian oil companies in Iraq.

Arez Abdullah said in an interview with IRNA in Erbil that although Iraqi government has no law on oil and gas and parliament is providing legislation for investment in oil and gas.

He said that there is no obstacle on the way of Iranian firms activities in Iraq.

He added that Iraqi Kurdistan Region by having executive law on oil and gas is a better ground for Iranian companies to operate.

He expressed deep concern about menaces of Daesh terrorism in Iraq and said that by demolishing the terrorist group, domestic problems would be settled in a framework of law.
