Pakistan: Gas pipelines’ blast suspects arrested in Bhong-Punjab

Bhong: The alleged mastermind behind Pakistan’s Rahim Yar Khan gas pipelines’ explosion has been arrested in Bhong village during a joint raid conducted by Punjab Police and other institutions on Sunday.
According to media reports, security and intelligence agencies have claimed having arrested the alleged mastermind of the attack along with his gang members from Bhong village of Punjab province today while one accused has managed to flee from the location.
The attackers blew up main gas pipelines in Punjab last month, cutting supplies to the province.
According to security officials, all accused belong to a black-listed organisation while one person is an employee of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC). The alleged attackers were claimed to be trained in a neighbouring country.
The gang members were identified as Meva, Ramzan and Peera, while security officials have recovered explosives and weapons from their possession, local media reported.
They have reportedly admitted to their involvement in the gas pipeline attack and revealed their plan for targeting another gas pipeline in Bhong village.
