EDF linked with Italy wind sale

Feb. 24

EDF has remained silent over reports that it is planning the sale of a 70% stake in the wind assets of its Italian subsidiary Edison.
Edison is Italy's second-biggest utility with about 600MW of wind capacity in operation.
The French parent group is discussing bringing an investor on board while retaining a minority stake and continuing to operate the wind farms, according to Reuters.
The Italian infrastructure fund F2i and the UK’s Terra Firma are said to be interested in buying stakes, but made no comment.
An EDF spokesperson in Paris told Recharge the utility had no comment to make, but a statement will be released at the appropriate time.
If such a deal did materialise, EDF would join its fellow French energy giant GDF
