Vestas scores turbine orders in China and Sweden

April 16, 04:40 CEST

Vestas has nabbed two new turbine contracts – for 58 of its V52 units for China, and 70 of its V90 units for Sweden.

The 49-megawatt (MW) Chinese project is destined for a project in Guangdong province. The contract includes delivery and commissioning and a two-year service and maintenance agreement. Delivery of the turbines is planned to take place during the third quarter of 2010.

“We are very pleased that this customer of ours has chosen our reliable and productive turbines,” says Jens Tommerup, president of Vestas China.
Vestas has also entered a framework agreement with Swedish developer Euolus Vind, which develops small- and mid-sized wind farms in southern Sweden. Vestas will supply the company with turbines totalling 140MW over a three-year period. The first delivery later this year will include seven turbines, for use in two small projects at Götala and Ileberg.
