LONDON, April 7 (Reuters) - Coal prices eased slightly on Wednesday after starting the week strongly on the back of a surge in oil prices last week.
Two 75,000 tonne cargoes of South African coal for loading in May traded on broker screen globalCOAL at $87.30 and then $86.50 a tonne FOB, compared to trades at $87 a tonne on Tuesday.
Two 50,000-tonne June cargoes of multi-origin coal for delivery into northwest Europe also traded at $78.50 a tonne on globalCOAL and again through another broker at $78.70, compared to bids at $78.50 during the previous session.
