Interfax China reported that the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region plans to produce about 700 million tonnes of coal in 2010.
Inner Mongolia wants to be more than just a raw coal producer and hopes that more than 45% of its coal will be processed locally. For new coalmines, the region has ordered that 50% of their output must be processed locally.
The region has also requested that coalmines continue to update production technology to boost the coalmine recovery rate to more than 65% from the current 60%.
