Transocean's deepwater semisubmersible rig GSF Celtic Sea landed a three-year contract for operations offshore Angola beginning the second quarter of 2011. Transocean did not disclose the customer but said in a release that the contract should generate revenues of about $350 million.

The GSF Celtic Sea is one of 16 deepwater floaters in Transocean's fleet. The rig can operate in water depths of up to 5750ft and drill to 25,000ft. The Friede & Goldman L-907 Enhanced Pacesetter entered service in 1982 and was upgraded in 1998.
