Wednesday, 25 Nov 2009

Mr Moayyed Hosseini Sadr member of Majlis Energy Commission announced that Turkey is seeking to deliver Iran's natural gas to the EU via the Nabucco gas pipeline.

Mr Hosseini Sadr said that "Turkey intends to acquire 50% of the gas marketing right and inject the natural gas it buys from Iran into the Nabucco pipeline and deliver it to the target countries."

He added that the parliament enjoys the right to study Iran's agreements with the other states and is also entitled to the right to be informed about the manner and trend of the negotiations over deals and contracts before their finalization.

The Nabucco gas pipeline project worth EUR 7.9 billion envisages gas supply from the Caspian region to EU countries. Construction of the gas pipeline was scheduled for 2011. The first supplies will be launched in 2014. Maximal capacity of pipeline will hit 31 billion cubic meters per year.

  1. When you flush your toilet or run water down a drain, where does it go? Most people are vaguely aware that there are municipal water treatment systems in their community, but they don't know what processes the wastewater is put through in order to purify it. Industrial, business, and residential liquid wastes all run down sewers which then route them to facilities where they are cleaned up and made ready for use again.
