President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Iran’s nuclear technology is indigenous, adding that Iran and Brazil can cooperate in the field of nuclear power plant construction.

In an interview with Brazil National TV network on Tuesday, Ahmadinejad, responding to a question whether Iran wants to import nuclear technology from Brazil, said that Iran's nuclear technology is for producing nuclear energy, but nuclear power plants technology is an issue on which the two countries can have a good cooperation.

He added that Iran and Brazil have the right to use enrichment technology and underlined that both countries need to
use nuclear energy in their power plants.

Referring to inconveniences created for Brazil in the field of nuclear issue, which comes from capitalist thought, Ahmadinejad said that a number of countries want to control all nuclear technology and do not let independent states gain access to such advanced technology.

He said that Iran will continue its peaceful nuclear activities under the supervision of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) adding that Iran is self-sufficient in nuclear technology, 'so we do not need to import it from Brazil'.
Ahmadinejad stressed that the problem that a number of countries created on Iran’s nuclear activities was a political issue adding that, 'in our view it has been finished'.

"Brazil has always supported Iran’s nuclear right and we continue our cooperation and consultations with our Brazilian friends," President Ahmadinejad said.

He underlined that Iranians have learned how to look after themselves, so the stances of certain countries are not important for us and those countries are collapsing.

Responding to a question whether Iran counts on Brazil's support, Ahmadinejad answered that Brazil has always supported Iran on nuclear issue and we appreciate that, but the problem is now solved, because our enemies used all instruments they had like issuing resolutions, military threats and political propaganda.

Ahmadinejad described Brazilian nation as a big, sincere, civilized and justice-seeking people and said that during the last 100 years, this nation had been under pressure from hegemonic powers and they plundered this nation’s wealth and assets and now they want to create obstacles in the way of Brazil's progress.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for expansion of sports ties between Iran and Brazil, especially in the field of football. Ahmadinejad by expressing pleasure with presence of several Brazilian football players in Iranian football clubs, said that Iranians like Brazilian football style.

He added a number of Brazilian football champs are among Iranian youth favorites.

Ahmadinejad stated that sport exchanges and ties between the two countries are growing adding that he wants it develop even more.

President Ahmadinejad said although he and his Brazilian counterpart may not think exactly the same on Holocaust, the two great nations of Iran and Brazil will contiunue their cooperation in all fields. A reporter told Ahmadinejad President Lula is his friend and had congratulated him the day after his election but has asked him to review his viewpoints on Holocaust.

Ahmadinejad said, "President Lula and I are working for progress and prosperity of our nations and we both represent two big nations and are interested to develop our ties, so it is natural that our viewpoints are close to each other."

He underlined that although they are friends and both of them are opposed to injustice, but it does not mean they always think in the same way.

Of course, there are common viewpoints in important principles and we both love other nations and like to see peace in the world.

"Concerning Holocaust, I have already asked two transparent questions; the first question is if Holocaust has happened.

Where has that event happened? Europe.

And why should Palestinians pay the expenses?"

Ahmadinejad stressed that in Europe they claim that a crime has happened, but why should Palestinians be punished and Palestinian territory be occupied?

He added those people ( European politicians) do not want to answer these questions, and I have explained this to President Lula.

Ahmadinejad said that we want a peaceful solution for Palestine problem and added that we think war and blockade are not solutions.

Do you want Brazil to change its stance on this issue? a reporter asked and Ahmadinejad said that we do not want to interfere in decisions of the independent state of Brazil, but we continue our dialogue and present our reasons.

He added that relations between Iran and Brazil will not be affected by the issue and both countries will continue their ties independently.

Upon request of the TV interviewer for a message to Brazilian nation, President Ahmadinejad said, “Greetings to Brazilian nation, we like them, we like all nations who love justice and have already sufferred cruelty and injustice."

He added many characters of Brazilians are desirable for us and we wish health, progress and honor for them.
